Alex: the greatest experience of my life, changed the way I live out my faith. This experience gave me a better picture of what the Catholic Church is all about. I have attended Catholic private schools since I was four years old and I have learned about the history and many teachings of my religion. After all these years of studying the Catholic Church it was a great privilege to participate in a pilgrimage to the Vatican City. Having the opportunity to attend the Papal audience, the 9 hour Pentecost Vigil, and participate in the Pentecost 2006 mass celebrated by Pope Benedict XVI made me feel very special. Special in a way that I have had the chance to do all of this at the age of sixteen while many people, even people of holy orders, may never get this opportunity of a lifetime. I was also able to see the artwork of many great artists, different basilicas from before the 9th century, and tombs and remains of important saints in the history of the Catholic Church. One stop that I was completely taken by was being able to see and kneel on the very steps that Jesus Christ our savior walked on the way to his crucifixion. Two days before I departed for the pilgrimage I celebrated my Confirmation and I think going on this pilgrimage was the best way possible to celebrate. I plan to continue to practice my faith in a very dedicated manor for the rest of my life.

Jacob: My trip to Italy was a great and wonderful experience. I learned a lot about my religion. Beginning day one we reflected and prayed the rosary together. I enjoyed meeting other families and getting to know them and their religious experiences. I enjoyed visiting great churches. I was shocked at the magnificent artwork and history that I saw in Rome and other parts of Italy. One of the main highlights of the trip was seeing Pope Benedict XVI three different times. At one point I was about 10 feet away from him and it was then that I realized how blessed I am. At such a young age I have been part of a great pilgrimage and I will definitely never forget it.
